Some parents of 5-18 yr olds received a text today asking you to contact us if your child has not received any MMR doses. This text went to caregivers of children for whom we do not have MMR documentation in the National Immunisation Register (NIR). In most cases, you will have vaccinated your child, but that took place either in another country, or at a medical centre in NZ that has not passed on your records to us. Some of you may have made an active choice not to immunize against MMR (usually our records clearly show if you have declined MMR, but occasionally this information is not easily extractable from the electronic record).
If you know your child/young person has received 2 doses of MMR, they do not need another dose, but we would appreciate the opportunity to update our records. Please email us:
- a copy of the documentation you have, OR
- confirmation that your child received their scheduled childhood immunisations up to the age of 11yrs, even if you don’t have a written record of it.

If you know, or strongly believe, your child/young adult has NOT had any MMR vaccines, please phone the practice for a vaccination appointment. If you did not receive a text today, that means we already have documentation of your child having had 2 MMR vaccines, and no action is needed.
If you had previously decided not to immunise your child with MMR, but now wish to have them vaccinated, we also welcome your phone call to arrange this.
