We text you today, asking you to check your childhood immunisation history with family members. We are trying to reach all of you in this age group who have never had an MMR vaccine, as our computer records are incomplete prior to 2006.
If your childhood caregiver tells that you had all the vaccines offered to children up to the age of 11 yrs, you do not need to contact us. It doesn’t matter if they no longer have a written record, or can’t remember specific vaccines, as long as they recall that you had all the vaccines recommended in childhood. We know that the NZ schedule included 2 doses of MMR from 1992, so if you received your childhood vaccinations you got 2 doses of MMR. Children immunised overseas would also have received MMR as per the immunization schedule of their country, or have been offered catch-up MMR when they arrived in NZ and registered with a medical centre.
If your childhood caregiver confirms that:
- you were not fully vaccinated as per the immunization schedule of the time for any reason, OR
- they chose not to have you vaccinated specifically with MMR
please contact us in business hours.
We will arrange an MMR vaccine as soon as possible if we cannot find MMR vaccination in any records that we hold for you.
